Several viewers in iPad/iPhone cannot read ods-files, so I save them as xls-files. My date-cells are formatted as dd/mm/yyyy (but i tried other fomats). When displayed on an iPad/iPhone the day-part shows a julian-date (i.e. daynummer in the year), so a date is showed as something like 165/10/2012, and the dd-part (only that part) looks like a hyperlink. I figured out that saving the same file using msOffice97 doen not produce this strange date-view. So I assume the problem is not in the Apple software. I tried saving the file using a LibreOffice running on Windows PC and on a macbook, but the problem is the same.
correction: the whole field looks like a hyperlink

Date format always can't be recognized or saved in XLS format in Windows platforms from x86 and x64 since many previous versions of LibreOffice till now in 3.6.3 stable release. Please help to fix this annoying issue which has been lasted for a very long time.
It's should not happen now on LO 3.6.6 and 4.0.3, see: http://erack.org/blog/archives/8-LibreOffice-date-acceptance-patterns.html Please REOPENED this bug if you still experience this issue with latest release.
