Created attachment 70943 [details]
Not all formats are copied correctly with the "brush" tool from right to left columns.

If you create a table in writer with lets say 5 lines and 2 columns and you want to past the format from one side (one box of the table) to all fields on the other side only the text format is copied to all and to one box the background colour is copied. Sometimes only the headlines are formatted although all lines were selected.
Comment 1 Joel Madero 2014-06-25 03:38:53 UTC
For me the only thing not copied is the background and that is separate from the table.

Updating title to reflect this.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open writer
Type something short on two lines
Add a background color to first line
Select the words on the first line
Click on the format paintbrush icon
Select second line

Expected: Background color applied to second line
Observed: Not applied

Problem testet right now and problem still exists.

Testet with LO 4.3.5.2 under Linux (Ubuntu) 12.04 (precise) Kernel 3.8.0

Fastest way to check: See attachment in first post. Open this attachment. Try to paste anything with the brush tool from the first box to the last. = Does not work. Page is scrolling upwards directly.

No changes noticed.

Thanks for your time!

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.0.4 or later) https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System

Please DO NOT:

- Update the version field
- Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
- Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3)

http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

Thank you for your help!

I just can test it in LO 5.0.0.5 in Kubuntu Precise 12.04 with Kernel 3.13.0-71-generic.

In that version the bug is gone. Thanks a lot!!! Keep on the good work!

Bugs are the biggest enemies of programmers. Every programmer https://www.edugeeksclub.com/proofreading/ hates one thing and that is bugs. Because if your program has even a small little naked bug than it will destroy your whole code. Because code cannot run until there is a bug in the bug.
