Step 1 - Screenshot has been expunged of the slides content

Start Edit mask mode
Select a mask on the left side of the screen, right click, select Rename, put a NewName
Go with the mouse cursor on this mask, its tooltip has been updated to NewName (Screenshot step1)
Go with the mouse cursor on the right side of the screen in the Master page explorer, go on the mask that has been renamed. The tooltip still is the old name. (Screenshot Step 2)

I do not understand the problem. Why should a template be renamed because the Slide where it is used has been renamed? Do I misunderstand something?

This problem still exists in LO 5.3.2.2 under Windows 10:

The steps to reproduce:

1. Open a new impress document.
2. Change to master view.
3. Click on the "rename master"-Button in the "master view"-toolbar.
4. Change the default name "Default" in "test".
5. Open the sidebar -> master pages section.
6. On top in the "used in this presentation"-section the toolbar for the used presentation shows still "Default".

Special User Test Profile for testing, Copy from my 25.2.3.2 Normal Use Profile

STR:

1. Open a new impress document with template "Focus".
2. Move Mouse Pointer to Master Slides Sidebar, top slide
» As expected Tooltip shows "Focus"
     Following views show names "Focus1", "Focus2", "Focus3"
3. Menu ˋView → Master Slideˊ for change to master view.
4. ˋRightclick on top slide in Master Slides Sidebar → Rename Master →
in related Dialog Change Name from "Focus" to "Renamed" → [OK]ˊ
5. Move Mouse Pointer to Master Slides Sidebar, top slide
» As expectd Tooltip shows new name "Renamed" 👌
     Following views show names "Focus1", "Focus2", "Focus3"

So everything seems ok to me

Also ok ...
Comment 14 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2025-05-05 06:56:25 UTC
For me also NOT reproducible with other methods of renaming (click button)
in 4.0.0.0 and 6.0.7.3 – But I saw something which might be related and explain different observations:
a1) in 6.0.7.3 the new Master name will NOT be shown in Tooltip for
"Used in the Presentation" before document has
    been closed and reopened again
a2) In 25.8.0.0.alpha0+ new name immediately appears in Tooltip.

❓ So now fixed?

I will close this one 12. Mai 25 if there will not be new findings
