Problem description: Cannot access number format tab on Format -> Cells dialog. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Calc 2. Go to Format ->Cells 3. Click on Numbers Tab Current behavior: Calc crashes to desktop, no error. Restarting attempts to recover document. Running from terminal gives no error. Expected behavior: Numbers tab functions. Operating System: Linux (Other) Version: 3.6.4.3 release
On pc Debian x86-64 with 3.6 sources updated today, I don't reproduce this. Steve: - did you install any LO specific extensions? - do you confirm you don't need to open a specific document? - could you precise your Linux distribution and version? Finally, could you try to retrieve an useful backtrace? (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#How_to_get_a_backtrace_.28on_Linux.29)
Created attachment 71867 [details] Backtrace I haven't installed any funky extensions. It happens with a new blank document on an empty cell or one with a number in it. I'm running Arch Linux - up to date. Backtrace attached.
Steve: thank you for your very interesting bt! Michael: I've got ICU 4.8 (Debian testing updated today) Is LO compatible with icu 5 (noticed in bt attached by reporter)?
Not sure if we work well with icu-5 really; Caolan is prolly a good guy for font stuff. Naturally it'd be much nicer to have a backtrace with full debugging symbols if we can get that. I guess this may be related to the users' system/fonts settings - have you installed any fonts recently ? does your system LibreOffice behave in the same way ? thanks :-)
This is (apparently) with a distro version of LibreOffice built against icu-50.1 and deployed against 50.1.1 and doesn't affect the "vanilla" version. Lior pointed that arch linux problem out to be earlier. See https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/33130 and https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/33142 it appears to be an abi incompatibility between icu 50.1 and icu 50.1.1, so the crash will go away when arch linux rebuilds libreoffice against 50.1.1.
Happy to report that Arch has already rebuilt the libreoffice package and the bug is squashed. Less than 2 days...pretty impressive.
