Description bugquestcontri 2012-12-21 04:06:03 UTC
Problem description:
When editing an original doc-file, changes are not recorded. Even after saving the file in odt-format, recording of changes are not visible.

Shutting down LiblO did not help, so did rebooting of the PC.

Doc-file was created on a Mac.

Steps to reproduce:

1 – Opening mac created doc-file by double-clicking the email attachement
2 – Saving as doc-file
3 – Edit/Changes/Record
4 - Doing changes in the doc-file is not recorded – neither for adding new text nor deleting text
5 – Saving doc-file as odt-file: Saves As / format: odt/ enter
6 - Doing changes in the odt -file is not recorded – neither for adding new text nor deleting text
7 – Shutting down and restarting LibO
8 – Double-clicking on doc-file name to open
9 – Edit/Changes/Record
10 - Doing changes in the doc-file is not recorded – neither for adding new text nor deleting text
11 – Double-clicking on odt-file name to open
12 – Edit/Changes/Record
13 - Doing changes in the doc-file is not recorded – neither for adding new text nor deleting text
14 – Shutting rebooting PC
15 – Rrepeated steps 8-13: no difference to results of 8-13
16 – Opening new writer document all works

Current behavior:
For original doc-files recording of changes does not work even when saved as odt file

Expected behavior:
For all file types recording of changes should work

Checked with:
LO 4.1.0.0.beta2
Build ID: 33224f4f11a05cfad2249e812fcc2975fbb61f6
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit

Could not reproduce with doc created by LO on PC.

Could you attach any example problematic Mac documents to allow others to check on different system/build?

I checked again but now in Version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID: 9e9821abd0ffdbc09cd8c52eaa574fa09eb08f2)

File was created on Mac with Pages and saved on the Mac in doc-format

Could not reproduce. Recording of changes is enabled and works fine in attached file. Saved as doc, reopened, all changes are visible, could reject.
