In writer, you put a 'Text' Object from 'Drawing' toolbar, then input some text, after that select 'Block selection', it can't work. If I use the 'Frame', input some text, it works fine for 'Block selection'.
reproducible with LO 4.0.2.2 (Win7 Home, 64bit)
