When I show the Print Preview at Step 6 or 7, the Mail Merge Wizard quits itself. Especially at Step 7, the document is left with all the data inserted to the fields. Meaning, there is no database fields left within the document, therefore I can no longer go back to the Mail Merge Wizard. If I save the file at this point, I would lose my template file. So then I have to reload the file w/o saving it in order to edit it again as a template. Steps to reproduce 1. Insert mail merger fields 2. Tools > Mail Merge Wizard > Proceed to Step 7 and press Edit Document 3. Click on Print Preview icon 4. Close Print Preview Mode 5. The 'Return to Wizard' button disappears Proposals; 1. Disable Print Preview icon for the time being if it is not an easy task. At least it will save many users from having this problem. 2. Somehow avoid Mail Merge Wizard from quitting itself after Print Preview. Thank you in advance. Regards,
I reproduced this in version 4.3.0.0.alpha0+, Build ID 393ece995a0761a72c8341bf56e40fe4c57a4824, on Ubuntu 12.04. I am marking it as NEW.
Adding self to CC if not already on
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated yesterday, I could reproduce this.
Just for the record, I noticed this console log during tests: warn:legacy.osl:11753:1:sfx2/source/view/viewfrm.cxx:3229: SID_TASKPANE state requested, but no task pane child window exists for this ID!
From LO 5.2 there are no more 8 steps in MMW. Strange it's not in https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/5.2. It's 5 steps now and 5th is Adjust Layout. So formally, no more "edit document" and "edit individual document" within the wizard. We have MM toolbar now that stays on after MMW. Well, Print Preview turns off this MM toolbar, but it's easy to turn on. I can't say whether it's a bug but it would be another bug anyway. And it's not MM only, some other toolbars are also turned off. So, I'll close this one as WFM. Od course, should you find it inappropriate, please respond.
