Problem description: The printer in my system is having the paper size A4. Properties from the printer driver is A4 and CUPS reports the same. The application 'Printer Administration' in Libreoffice is reporting this as letter. When I change for A4, pressing ok and then reopening the properties this is back to letter format. Current behavior: Always reported as letter Expected behavior: That this option would be updated with your choice of paper size. Operating System: Ubuntu Version: 3.6.4.3 release
Can be reproduced Version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID: 9e9821abd0ffdbc09cd8c52eaa574fa09eb08f2)
Almost positive this is a duplicate of bug 61186, marking as such - you should see a fix in the upcoming 4.1 release If this is not a duplicate please explain further on how we can see the problem - I assume Printer Administration refers to File -> Print dialog. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 61186 ***

Hi, I have further investigated the issue. This is NOT the 'file / print dialog'. The program is called Printer Administration and is installed as part of the debian menu. I have retested in 4.0.4.2 and 4.1. It seems like that only A4 is returning the value to letter. That means the other values are accepted. But I think, that this part of libreoffice should accept the value A4 and not default it to letter format.
Marking as UNCONFIRMED again - REOPENED is only if the bug is assigned and set to FIXED. Thanks for additional info
According to this AskLO thread: http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/6898/change-default-paper-size-wont-stick/ ... the paper size may be dependent on the locale. What does Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages > Language of > Locale setting indicate? What is the typical paper size for the indicated locale?
I vaguely remember something very similar coming across my desk but I'll have to dig around to look for it. For now, marking as NEEDINFO as we need an answer to Owen's questions. Once you let us know what locale is being used and what the default should be mark as UNCONFIRMED and we'll continue poking. If I find that other bug I'll put it in "see also" or perhaps it is a duplicate of this one. Thanks!
