A Powerpoint file, which could be opened with an older version of LibreOffice (3.5.5 or so, I am not sure) cannot be opened with LibreOffice 3.5.6 and 3.5.7. Windows reports "PowerPoint 97-2003 presentation".
please attach that file. without test documents it's impossible to give any support.
Hi Werner, I received you .ppt file by private mail. I promise I won't diffuse it over the net. The bug you describe in LibO 3.5.7 is NOT REPRODUCIBILE in LibO 3.6.4 and LibO 4.0 beta2+ using Windows Vista 64bit. I can open that file with both versions. I suggest to upgrade to LibO 3.6.4 since the 3.5.x branch is dead (there will not be any 3.5.8 release). In the meantime you may test your file with a portable version of LibO 3.6.4 (no installatione required) that you can download from here: http://www.winpenpack.com/en/download.php?view.1338 I'm gonna mark this bug report ad RESOLVED WORKSFORME. feel free to reopen it if you still experience that issue with LibO 3.6.4
for the record, the reporter sent me a private mail confirming that the bug has gone after upgrade to 3.6.4
Created attachment 108947 [details] Power Point 2003 file bug still exist with Power Point 2003and no bugs with PowerPoint 2010
I cannot open an old Powerpoint presentation (given in May 1997, don't know the Powerpoint version) in LibreOffice 4.4.3.2. When trying to open it, LibreOffice gives as error message: Version Incompatibility. Incorrect file version. Using MacBookPro Intelcore i7 with OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Any suggestions?
set status to NEEDINFO(In reply to Maksim from comment #4) > Created attachment 108947 [details] > Power Point 2003 file > > bug still exist with Power Point 2003and no bugs with PowerPoint 2010 tested under Windows 8.1 64bit I confirm attachment 108947 [details] can't be opened in LibO 3.3.0, 4.4.3 and 5.1.0.0 recent daily build... LibO hangs at 33% or progress bar... the same file is loaded in a few seconds in MS PowerPoint Viewer and in OOo 3.3.0 so it's a very early LibO issue. ** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.1.5 or 5.2.1 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b.
