Created attachment 73010 [details] ods in question When I select a column in the attached file and try to export it from File->Export, variant HTML, LibreOffice takes all CPU and never ends the job (the progress bar for "saving" is stuck near the end). The first time I've tried exporting about 6000 columns and after half a day it wasn't done yet; then I tried about 1500 and it happened the same. This shouldn't be the same as bug 37878. The table was created by copy and pasting from http://wikistats.wmflabs.org/display.php?t=mw , in case this matters.
Tried verifying this bug report, but when opening the attached test ods with LO 4.1.3.2. CPU spikes to 100% and opening the file took ages. After 5 minutes and still not loaded I force quit LO. Same with LO 4.2a1. Tested on OS X 10.9.
Hi, it took a lot of time to load the document, but was able to do so. I selected column D and goes to File > Export > XHTML, and then was forced to quit because Calc became unresponsive (Save in progress bar almost reached the end too) Using Version: 4.2.0.1 Build ID: 7bf567613a536ded11709b952950c9e8f7181a4a - Set to New - Sophie

Created attachment 115284 [details] PDF export of column C I can't reproduce this bug any longer because I no longer find the XHTML export option in the menu. Where is it? I can confirm that loading the document and exporting it to PDF (the only option I find) takes a very long time. I left the export running during the night and I got the attached PDF. $ libreoffice --version LibreOffice 4.2.8.2 420(Build:2) $ uname -a Linux 3.18.9-100.fc20.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Mar 9 16:27:23 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

For me the sheet loaded in 10 CPU minutes with LibreOffice 5.0.6.2-10.fc23 on an AMD A8-7600. I no longer find the export to HTML in the export menu. Export to PDF completed in about 11 minutes.

I confirm it is slower to export "Selection" with a column selected (maybe 1-2 minutes) than it is when nothing is selected (maybe 20 sec). New test with LibreOffice 7.2.6.2 20 on AMD A8-7600. I still can't find the XHTML export. Opening the ods and exporting it to PDF took about 7 minutes in total, significantly less than before: $ time libreoffice /tmp/mediawikis.ods real 7m13,510s user 5m54,299s sys 0m14,462s Exporting just column C took few seconds and the export seems correct. The bug as described by the current summary is therefore fixed.
