Problem description: Cannot change the coulour of the font inside a textbox Steps to reproduce: 1. Open .odt file where text boxes have been used, or create one 2. Try and change the font colour Current behavior: Cannot change font colour Expected behavior: Why not have a colour changing icon just like editing the main body of text. Icon set in attachments do not exist when using the font tool. Operating System: Mac OS X Version: 3.6.4.3 release
NOT REPRODUCIBLE with 3.6.5.2 and Version 4.0.1.0+ (Build ID: 3353687fb4af77de2a5a901d58b940367162f74) TinderBox: MacOSX-Intel@27-OSX_10.7.0-gcc_4.2.1_llvm, Branch:libreoffice-4-0, Time: 2013-01-30_08:12:41. Steps I took: -Insert -> Frame -Typed something into the frame -Selected the text and changed the text colour. -Colour changed as expected.
Version 4.0.0.3 (Build ID: 53fd80e80f44edd735c18dbc5b6cde811e0a15c) Still doesn't work with this release. Further notes: Add text box Add text Highlight text Enable formatting toolbars: View --> Toolbar --> Formatting Fortmatting toolbars now appear e.g. Fonts, Font Size, and most importantly Font colour. Changing the font, font size etc works fine, but colour not. Toolbar must be re-enabled evertime the textbox is edited. - Rob
Emir: That's not what I mean. - (Intert --> Frame) is _not_ a problem. Using the 'T' tool then drawing a box is where the problem exists. - Rob
Ah I see. When I click on the text formatting toolbar only partially appears, and icons associated with colours do not show up. But when I try to change the font colour via - right click - character - font colour, it works. Updated summary accordingly.
Created attachment 74594 [details] Formatting toolbar when text inside textbox is selected As can be seen here, there are no icons about colours, thus very inconvenient.
In fact there is a font color button, it just hidden by default. You can enable it at Tools->Customize->Toolbars. The relevant toolbar called 'Text Object'. You can also do the same by right-clicking on the toolbar, pointing to 'Visible Buttons', and choosing that button.
Not true. This tool box option is already enabled. This issue remains open for me. (In reply to comment #6) > In fact there is a font color button, it just hidden by default. Hi Rob, After reading comment 2 I realized that you're actually trying to use the 'Formatting' toolbar with a textbox. It's not the right toolbar! For a textbox you should use the 'Text Object' toolbar instead, and it has hidden color button which you can enable. Is this solves your problem?
Hi Maxim, Thanks for your help! Unfortunately not. Following the same procedure in comment 2, I can see that 'Text Object' is already enabled. I disabled and reenabled, but no joy. When enabled, the only text editing options I have are: Font type Size Bold, Italic ans Underline Subscript, Superscript Alignments (4 of) Select all Character Paragraph - Rob > Hi Rob, > > After reading comment 2 I realized that you're actually trying to use the > 'Formatting' toolbar with a textbox. Maxim, Got it. I was too quick to reply, and didn't read your response well enough. After right clicking the toolbar, like you said , I now see the hidden colour option. Sorry and thanks again for your help!! - Rob
Agh, these tool bars are driving me mental… Any chance you know why I now have text instead of icons on my toolbar now? - Rob
(In reply to comment #11) > Any chance you know why I now have text instead of icons on my toolbar now? Go to Tools->Options...->Toolbars, and select the affected toolbar from the drop-down list. Then click on the 'Toolbar' button, and choose the appropriate status (Icons only/Icons & Text). Hope this helps.
