Description webofht-libreofficebugs002 2013-01-19 07:27:17 UTC
Problem description: On page three in this particular file, the Thai language cannot be detected by LibreOffice and no proper font is applied. If there is no specified Thai font in the file, other Thai fonts should be allowed to display the text.

Steps to reproduce:
1. The operating system used is Linux debian 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP Sun Sep 23 09:49:36 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux.
2. The LibreOffice versions involved are:
- LibreOffice Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff) (LO3.6.4.3)
- LibreOffice Version 4.0.0.1 (Build ID: 527dba6f6e0cfbbc71bd6e7b88a52699bb48799) (LO4.0.0.1)
3. The particular file is here:

http://www.adempiere.com/images/b/bc/Why_should_a_company_implement_Adempiere_Thai.odt

4. File -> Open -> (that particular file)

5. The Thai language cannot be detected by LibreOffice automatically. Refer to page three of the file.

6. The language can only be detected by selecting:

Tools -> Options -> Language settings -> Languages
-> Show UI elements for Bi-Directional writing
-> CTL -> Thai

in LibreOffice 4.0.0.1, and in LibreOffice 3.6.4.3, by selecting:

Tools -> Options -> Language settings -> Languages
-> Enabled for complex text layout (CTL)
-> CTL -> Thai

Current behavior: LO4.0.0.1 and LO3.6.4.3 cannot detect the Thai language and apply the proper font on page three of the file.

Expected behavior: LO4.0.0.1 and LO3.6.4.3 should detect the Thai language and apply the proper font on page three of the file.

Regards,
C. H. D.

Operating System: Debian
Version: 4.0.0.1 rc

changing version - version is the oldest version that we see the bug, not the latest it's been tested.
Comment 2 Joel Madero 2013-06-24 02:14:00 UTC
I'm not positive what Thai language actually looks like but a quick google and a comparison to page 3 of the document it seems like the font looks fine.

Attaching page 3 as a pdf of what I see using Version 4.1 RC1 on Bodhi Linux. i haven't installed any additional fonts or the Thai locale.

Marking as WFM - if my sample isn't what you expect please mark as UNCONFIRMED and let us know what's wrong with it.

Thanks!
