This one is a spin off of "Bug 40863 - [Task] Background exceeds shape borders when PRINTING" for a particular problem. Steps how to reproduce: 1. open Attachment 51184 [details] for Bug 40863 2. Print slide 5 (for example to FreePDF) Expected: bitmap background only shown within shape borders for shape "For a holiday" Actual: 2 strange extra rectangles as shown in bug documentation Attachment 73813 [details] for Bug 40863 second screenshot Already [Reproducible] with unzipped installation of "LOdev 4.0.0.0.alpha1+ - ENGLISH UI / German Locale [Build ID: af60316514f3ae3d4c475819bf86f2af837171e)]" {tinderbox: Win-x86@6, pull time 2012-11-23 22:10:31} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with own separate User Profile Was still ok with Master 370alpha0 2012-10-06 The effect is only reproducible for the shape in this particular presentation, problem not visible when I copy/paste shape to new presentation More research results tomorrow
Created attachment 73974 [details] Simple Sample Presentation All tests here done with server installation of "Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 2823789bec0c029d9714aff0ed65923e23177ef) TinderBox: Win-x86@6, Branch:master, Pull Time: 2013-01-24_22:52:49" ENGLISH UI / German Locale on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with LO41 Masters User Profile The problem persists and is better visible after page bitmap background has been changed to NONE, also some other element in Slide 1 can be deleted without influence the strange 2 extra background rectangles around shape "For a holiday" in Print. But as soon as you delete 1 of the shapes "To get into a University or Collage", "To communicate", "Why Learn German (the main reasons)?" the bug with "For a holiday" will switch to the "default bug" that bitmap backgound is shown as big rectangle , not respecting shape borders. Attached you will find a minimum sample to reproduce the problem. Steps how to reproduce the problem with : 1. Open "simplesample.odp" from LibO Start Center 2. Print Slide 1 (for example also to FreePDF) > Bug visible as shown in bug documentation Attachment 73813 [details] 3. Delete Shape "To communicate" > But switches to "default bug" that bitmap backgound is shown as big rectangle , not respecting shape borders. Slide 2 only for comparison
Created attachment 73975 [details] Simple Sample Drawing All important aspects of bug described in Comment above also reproducible in a DRAW document with copied shapes with server installation of "Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 2823789bec0c029d9714aff0ed65923e23177ef) TinderBox: Win-x86@6, Branch:master, Pull Time: 2013-01-24_22:52:49" ENGLISH UI / German Locale on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with LO41 Masters User Profile
Created attachment 74071 [details] print to pdf, same result printing to paper Confirmed this on W8 Pro 32bit Libreoffice Version 4.0.0.2 .0.2 (Build ID: 5991f37846fc3763493029c4958b57282c2597e). Printed to pdf (freepdf from http://shbox.de/xpDownload.html) and to paper - see attachment. Also if you select File / Print you can see in the Print Window that there are squares / rectangles instead of the original polygons. The printed output is identical to the attached pdf (i.e multiple polygons). If you export to pdf the output file is correct.
Setting importance to major / high as per triage flowchart.
FYI, committed fix for 40421 - unclear if this is related, don't see the problems described here - then again, the fix is clearly related.
I can verify that this bug does not appear with 4.1.3 or 4.2rc3. Export to PDF produces a working image, while printing to PDF or anything else produces Bug 40863. I can't get this distortion to show up at all now. I'm going to mark this as resolved based on the previous report of a patch fixing it so that it no longer blocks 40863.
