odt file with one note exported as pdf

when exporting a write .odt document that contains comments on the right hadn side as pdf, these comments appear in the pdf as narrow vertical lines and need to be doubleclicked to open them. They are very difficult to find (see attached file). The they would be a bit bigger, or red or an arrow etc it would be easier to find them

Cheers

Oliver

Another test case, confirming this bug is still there with LO 4.0.1.1

From a comment in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=685334#c4:

"The problem with both the LibreOffice and Latex generated PDF files seems to be
that they have a very small or zero volume /Rect field. The annotations in the
attached test case are in fact there. There is a very small area where hovering
the mouse shows the first comment.

Additionally, the annotations do not contain a /Popup field, which means
clicking them does nothing."

Isn’t this a bug in Evince (or the PDF viewer you use, Brendel)? For example, if I open this bug’s attachments in Firefox’s PDF.js viewer, I only need to hover over the comment indicators to see a small pop-up containing the comment.

I confirm that comments are visible with Firefox 19 (on Ubuntu)
I also did a few tests with other softwares :
- with free software SumatraPDF (on Windows) I can see the comments
- with freeware PDF Complete (on Windows) I can NOT see the comments
- with Evince (on Ubuntu) I can NOT see the comments

It also interesting to note that if you open the pdf file with LibreOffice Draw (version 4.0.1.1) : the comments are NOT there.
Comment 5 Oliver 2013-03-08 08:50:20 UTC
I think it must be an interaction between the way LO is exporting and the way the different pdf readers are interpreting these exports.
It is not only a problem of the Foxit reader, as docx files containing comments exported with MSWord do show up easily visible etc. I can't test this directly as I don't have MSWord, but I have been sent such files from colleagues.

Bug 60126 - pdfs with comments in Adobe Reader 9

Merged screenshot of both PDFs as viewed in Adobe Reader 9. Comment icons are big enough to click them.
