I have a numbered list of this type: b. Text c. Text d. Text However, if I want 'Text' to be in small caps, then it is not possible to format only the text in small caps: the numbering b, c, d is also changed, but I don't want those to be in small caps.
Hi, thanks for reporting this. I have tested this functionality using 4.0.1.0+ on Ubuntu 12.04. I found that you can customize the bullet list attributes by opening the Syles and Formatting List (press F11). You can select the little notepad with an "a" at the top. Right click on Default Style and select New. I named the custom setting as BulletList, and selected a font effect, such as color and Bold. I closed this, went to Format -> Bullets and Numbering, and selected a) b) c) as bullets. I clicked on the Options tab, and then chose BulletList as my Character Style. After closing this, I created a simple list using my bullets. I highlighted each text field, and set it to "Text Body" in the style dropdown (one that was predefined). As a result, font color or underlining of the list text had no effect on the bullets, but Italics, changing font size, changing to Small Caps, etc did.

Hi Thanks for the update, appreciate it. I have to say though that this is another one of the cases where Word is really just simpler and more intuitive - one just highlights stuff and formats it, done, no messing with styles is required - so I hope the LO team will address this at some point. Thx again!
This looks like one of those things that wasn't intentional- I actually didn't know there was a Numbering icon before someone else mentioned it, because that's all they ever use. I hope it's resolved soon, too!
Hi Kaesezeh, looks similar with previously reported bug. Please REOPENED if you think different. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 43767 ***
