Affecting Debian Wheezy When attempting to add 'other sound' in the slide transition pane all sound files are rejected saying 'the file is not a valid sound file'. Reproduce: Run LibreOffice Impress on Debian Wheezy. Open the Slide Transition Pane Go to the Sound drop down, click 'Other Sound' Select any sound file, (tried mp3, wav, ogg, m4a, ac3) I've tried it on multiple Debian machines and got the same result, tried on Windows and Linux Mint and it works.
Have also tested adding on of the libreoffice sound files from the list - from /usr/lib/libreoffice/share/gallery/sounds/ and got the same result.
Hey Ollie, Sorry for the long delay. Is this still an issue for you on 4.1? Seems very strange that it would be just one distribution showing the problem
Hi Joel, I've just tested and it still happens on version 4.1.2.3 on Debian Wheezy. Many thanks, Ollie
please retest against 4.2.x
This report sounds like a required LO (or other) package has not been installed. I am running Debian 7 x86_64 and using v4.1.6.2 and v4.3.0.3 the sample audio files here: https://archive.org/details/WilhelmScreamSample ... can all be selected and inserted as transitions to slides in Impress. Ollie, how did you install LO and which LO packages have you installed? After unzipping the website install download I generally use: $ sudo dpkg -i *.deb ... in order to install all LO packages. Perhaps try that to see if it makes any difference?
I'm running Debian 6 and version 4.2.5.2 and no problem also, following Owen link, I'm able to select the sound and add it to the transition. I set it at Needinfo until Ollie come back with more test and may be add the needed files. Sophie
