During some modifications of a .odt file created with previous libreoffice version (3.6.5), the file closed unexpectedly. It was impossible to be re-opened.

Gioni: thank you for your feedback.

Please do not answer for your mailer but directly on bugtracker.

Just some questions:
did you uninstall 3.6.5 before installing 4.0.0.3 or did you just upgrade?

Both files attached to the bugtracker seem identical, at least, they have the same size.

Can you open one of this file with 4.0.0.3?
Comment 5 gioni 2013-02-16 20:00:12 UTC
hi Julien,
you received the same file two times, because my lack of experience. Sorry.
Before installing 4.0 I uninstalled 3.6.
That's the file I cannot open with 4.0 but it is readble with 3.6.5

bye

It seems here the problem only exists for one particular document? What might have been damaged during a crash?
That document is not valid ODF due to <http://odf-validator2.rhcloud.com/odf-validator2/>
That all does not sound like a blocker.

But indeed, [Reproducible] with Server Installation of "LibO 4.0.0.3 - GERMAN UI / German Locale [Build ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89)]" {tinderbox: @6, pull time 2013-01-31 11:30(?)} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with separate new User Profile.

3.6.5 opens document without problems.

I created a valid ODF document from Sample with LibO 3.6.5, LibO 4.0.0.3 will open that document without problems.

I will do some further examinations tomorrow

@Julien:
Due to latest results I doubt that it's related to Bug 60921, what do you think?
Comment 8 Julien Nabet 2013-02-16 22:56:49 UTC
Rainer: ok let's remove it from "See also".

Gioni: could you try this:
- create a very simple doc with the other machine (containing LO < 4.0). For example a ods file just containing the word "test"
- save it
- copy the file to the machine containing LO 4.0.0.3 and try to do the same modifications you did.

BTW : what were the modifications? (or what kind if you don't remember precisely)
Comment 9 gioni 2013-02-16 23:41:48 UTC
Julien,
I have several file created with previous version. I have already done some test like your suggestion following the same procedure: I was editing footer and header but doesn't remember what exactly in that instant.
