Problem description: Can't open apparently my broken xlsx file. The original file (created in ms office 2010) opened fine. Then I added alot of data, saved it, and then closed it. And now when i got back 2 work after the weekend. Calc freezes when trying to load it. *NOTE* Opening it in ms office, managed to repair it and save my data. However, without editing anything, (ms said they removed something, but I can't see any data loss)and then save it. shrunk the filesize from 3.3MB to 2.9MB. Steps to reproduce: 1. Download attached file. 2. Open it Current behavior: Libre office frezzes, and must be force quit. Expected behavior: Opening the file. Operating System: Ubuntu Version: 4.0.1.2 release
Seems atachment was to big. Link to file: http://www.nldistribution.se/Madman/NLProdukter2Broken.xlsx

I can confirm this behavior using Mac OSX 10.8.3 with LibreOffice Version 4.0.2.1 (Build ID: 7e5467ff8f30d821f4fbf69cb2769163eb64c2c) TinderBox: MacOSX TDF Release, Branch:libreoffice-4-0, Time: 2013-03-12_21:31:08 I mark this bug as 'Major High' see our prioritizing flowchart [1]. Inability to open particular document. @Madman: is it possible to attach also the original xlsx file (before your changes)? Kind regards, Joren [1] https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/0/06/Prioritizing_Bugs_Flowchart.jpg
Sure. This is the orignal file: http://nldistribution.se/Madman/Copy%20of%20Sweetgadgetproductlist-1.xlsx And this is the curently working file I have now. After I got ms office to open and repair it. Note that this file contains more data then the broken file since I been working on it since the bugreport. http://nldistribution.se/Madman/NLProdukter2.xlsx
Hmm. I just realized that the file is enormous. And both Libre and MS has problem opening it. So I manged to open it in MS on a pc with more RAM, and copyed the data, to a new spreedsheet, pasted as text. Then I added my formating, and formulas, re-aranged some of the columns. My 3rd version of the file is now only 38kb (48 if I save it with MS). So the fact that the file is so huge, is what's wrong with it. And that could be beacuse of: Bug in libre 3.5, Libre 4.0, MS 2010, User-error. I'm not sure but I belive that my co-worker, when he changed the font to Arial in MS, he clicked on the blank row/columns box in the upper left corner, auto selecting ALL CELLS, and then changed font and font-size. Don't know in witch office he did this. So that might explain why it is so big. It might have font data on ALL CELLS from A to ZZ and 1 to 40 000+ that excell handels. The 3rd version I did only has font data on the 400 rows, and A-L cells I use.
