Mockup

CSV imports are very problematic for users and often data obtained from different sources require different settings. The settings for import have to be perfect or they fail. This area is support intensive.

This request is to add a small section to the CSV import UI that allows the users to select from predefined global and personal templates. LibreOffice would merge the global ones and their personal ones into a dropdown menu.

This would greatly decrease confusion and problems for enterprise users and allow system administrators to create predefined settings for their users.

Very simplified XML storage of this template might be something like:

xml
  templatename-Files From Kohei-/templatename
    separatedby-True-/separatedby
    tab-True-/tab
    comma-False-/comma
    semicolon-True-/semicolon
    delimiter-'-/delimiter
  /templatename>
/xml

In order to limit the confusion between ProposedEasyHack and EasyHack and to make queries much easier we are changing ProposedEasyHack to NeedsDevEval.

Thank you and apologies for the noise

Changing priority back to 'medium' since the number of duplicates is lower than 5
