It would be nice to have an option to associate LO with the most common file types included in the Options dialog (possibly under Load\Save).

This would be useful for users that initially did not chose to associate the files with LO but also when the files are "hijacked" by other office suites.

An example of such file association options can be seen in the freeware image viewer for Windows named IrfanView under Options, Set file associations

(Note: I'm not sure if this is also an issue under other OSes so I only selected Windows as target OS)

Submission is fine, but closing marking as duplicate of bug 44462 "Provide a proper 'File Association Manager' for the windows version of Libreoffice" where most of this discussion has be consolidated.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 44462 ***

Fair enough. There must be a bug in the Possible Duplicates. Bug 44462 was definitely _not_ showing up when I added this request (otherwise I would not have added it ;) )
