Problem description: Steps to reproduce: 1. go to http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/ 2. LibreOffice 4.0.2 RC2 (2013-03-28) is still available for download but v.4.0.2 has been released. The pre-release for 4.0.2 RC2 should be removed Current behavior: Same as described above Expected behavior: Should not show a pre-release until the 4.0.3 alpha is ready. Operating System: All Version: 4.0.2.2 release
Valid point. Setting to NEW.
na, not really validd / worksforme. The page reflects what is on the mirrors, and there will always be a short overlap between adding the final release and removal of the testing ones to allow mirrors to use hardlinking and thus avoid downloading all files again. (final and rc are identical, they are just renamed). For the user it doesn't really make a difference either, as he doesn't have to redo the download or similar. So worksforme.
Just to be clear, You are saying that the "Pre-release" page automatically updates itself once all the mirrors are updated and there is no need to remove any "RC's" that are showing; The removal of the text and RC versions is an automated process. If this is the case we should put a "Cautionary" note on the pre-release page that this is the case. I thought that the page was being updated manually and that for many of the past versions, we have had reminders from members to update the pre-release page as it had not updated itself promptly. If the page is not updated manually, then we need to find a process whereby the person in charge of updating is warned when a final version is released. I thought that a Bug warning that would also be posted on the "Website" list would be sufficient enough to warn the person in charge of the changes. Obviously an automated process would be the ideal. > You are saying that the "Pre-release" page automatically updates itself once all the mirrors are updated No, not once /all/ the mirrors are updated (since that can take quite a while), but when the set of files on the master-mirror is changed.[1] And that also only applies to the actual download links/selection, not to the text above. The text above needs to be updated manually. So the links for 4.0.2RC did now disappear, since they are no longer on the mirror, instead 3.6.6RC links are available instead. The text above ("LibreOffice 3.6.6 RC2 (2013-04-07) Below, you can download the second release candidate of the upcoming 3.6.6, for evaluation, QA testing, etc. You are not recommended to use LibreOffice pre-release builds for "mission-critical" purposes. For more information about QA testing, please visit the QA testers page. Please also see the Releases Notes. [...]") was manually updated. It would be quite hard to automatically do that for all languages - the version: OK, could be replaced, but also the date is tricky, as upload date is not necessarily announce-date, and you probably don't want to have the very same text for all occasions, but sometimes want to add some extra notes,... [1] when making the files public, an admin triggers https://github.com/tdf/cms-code/blob/master/mysite/code/UpdateDownloadsTask.php - that retrieves the avilable files using rsync and stores the results into the database. The links are then created from those database records.
Is it now the case that the page is missing the update with the 4.1.2 RCs? This seems a bit more important, since with the page not announcing the RCs, they may get less testing.
... and 4.1.2RC3 ...
current pre-releases are: LibreOffice 4.2.0 RC4 (2014-01-29) LibreOffice 4.1.5 RC2 (2014-02-04) which is correct
