Text set to white appears as grey on different machines

I had manually set all my text to white but this was overridden by the 'auto' colour and changed to grey when the presentation was opened on different machines.

I created the presentation in LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 in Ubuntu 12.10, my colleagues are using Libre Office 3.6.2.2, also on Ubuntu 12.10

An example of an affected slide is attached, the text in this slide was manually set to white on my machine but changed to grey on theirs.

Many thanks.
