Description Marcus Hudritsch 2013-04-13 08:11:31 UTC
I often lose style information on in new slides.
I can 100% reproduce it.
1) Copy the last slide
2) Save it
3) Reopen it, and the title style is gone and is now on standard.
I can upload you a example file.

There is definitely a style problem in Impress.
If I copy all slides into a new empty odp file I also lose all title style information.

Operating System: Mac OS X
Version: 4.0.2.2 release

Thanks for reporting.

But, I think I miss some important information/steps to reproduce.

Which style information? Color, underlining/bold/italic/..., size, font type?

> 1) Copy the last slide
I altered the title style (Bold, underlined, changed font size, font type and color)
> 2) Save it
I saved it both to odp and pptx.
> 3) Reopen it, and the title style is gone and is now on standard.
I can not reproduce this with the steps I mentioned.

Please do :-).

Even this I can't reproduce. I copied the slide I create to start with step 1, opened a new presentation, pasted it. Saved it again to odp and pptx. No styles gone.

Is it possible to add more detailed steps to reproduce?

Kind regards,
Joren

PS: feel free to mark this bug back to UNCONFIRMED in you provided more detailed steps.
Comment 2 Marcus Hudritsch 2013-04-15 08:56:16 UTC
Hi Joren,
thanks for your answer.
I do not loose style but format information.
On the last slide the format of the title was "Titel" before I saved it.
After reopen it is on format "Standard".
This happens always on new slides that I duplicated.
Here again the steps:
Delete the last slide with the wrong format.
Check that the now the last slides titel is in format "Titel"
Duplicate the last slide. The titel is still on format "Titel"
Now close it and reopen it. Now the titel is on format Standard!

You can also call me on Skype. My username is m.hudritsch
I can show it to you 100% reproducable.
Regards
Marcus

Hi Joel,

Can you have a try on this bug:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63494
It is in my Mac OSX query, but I don't it's likely this is a mac osx
only bug. Although all that, I keep failing to reproduce :(.

Thanks for helping me out,
Joren

I'm sorry for the noise of comment 3. It was ment to be to send directly to another QA expert :-) by mail, not to bugzilla.

As you see in my comment, I can't reproduce this currently on a Linux Mint 14 x64 with LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 computer. I'll have a try on my Mac OSX 10.8.3 when I have time.

PS: I failed to do it too ;-), but please don't reply on the emails you get from bugzilla, leave a comment on the bug by browsing to the bug itself (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63494) instead.
Comment 5 Marcus Hudritsch 2013-04-15 09:30:40 UTC
Hi Joren,
I can reproduce it on Win7 identically.
Regards
Marcus

Thanks :-)
Therefore I mark it as platform 'all'.

PS: please do not reply the emails you are receiving but answer it directly on in the bug report (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63494)

Hello Marcus,

What are you applying styles to? Examples of how your response would affect things:
A. I can reproduce the bug if I apply the style "Title" to a rectangle but not if I apply the style to a text box. (I'm using Windows 7, LibreOffice 4.0.4.2.)
B. If your bug report is about applying styles to rectangles (and probably other shapes), this bug would be a duplicate of Bug 62175.

Because this bug report needs more information, I'm changing the bug's status to NEEDINFO. When you provide that information, change the status back to UNCONFIRMED.

Thanks for reporting the bug!
