Description me 2013-04-23 09:47:23 UTC
Problem description: This is more of a general thing for mail merge. I use mail merge extensively for solutions other than filling in address and name details. The letter is a general safety sheet with the records being specific information about a particular location acquired from a registered spreadsheet.
This involves me formatting the page in non standard ways; columns, including an image, tabs etc. When I get to the preview section of the wizard where I can skip through and select/deselect records everything shows in the preview as it should. On completing the merge much of the formatting is lost and sometimes differs if I repeat it. Particularly the columns are lost and if I try to reformat due to other variables records can become jumbled. This results in me wasting time working on laborious work arounds. Perhaps a little attention could be give to this component?
Other grumbles:
A paragraph return is added at the top of each new record.
The selection/deselection method in wizard is not time efficient, a check box system where all records are shown in tabular form would be ideal.

Steps to reproduce:
1. ....
2. ....
3. ....

Expected behavior:

Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 3.6.0.1 rc

We'll need a simple test document in order to confirm this. Sorry for the long delay. Putting this in NEDINFO - once a sample document is attached mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED. Thanks

In the future please always include enumerated steps on how to reproduce and a sample document - you'll get much faster feedback when everything is simple to test which requires a bit more from our users. Thanks again!
