Description khalat.dosky 2013-04-23 22:57:14 UTC
I find that there is one feature missing from LibreOffice that i find that is a a great feature. This Feature im not quite sure what it is exactly called but it is when say i enter into calc =A1 it highlights the selected A1 cell immediately; however in calc you have to double click to find the selected cells that were imputed.
http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/16412/how-do-you-colour-cells-on-calc/#16447
it has also been discussed in this link above.
thank you

This is something Excel switchers would really miss actually.
Comment 3 khalat.dosky 2013-06-21 05:15:30 UTC
Yeah I know, can I ask if the feature has been successfully added to Libre Office?
Comment 4 Joel Madero 2013-06-21 14:43:09 UTC
No - if it's added there will be a notice here - this is an enhancement request, our developers are busy fixing high priority bugs - this request will have to wait until developers have some free time or until someone else looks at the code and fixes it

In order to limit the confusion between ProposedEasyHack and EasyHack and to make queries much easier we are changing ProposedEasyHack to NeedsDevEval.

Thank you and apologies for the noise

Does anybody know which functions are related to this bug (and their folder)?
Comment 10 Xisco Faulí 2019-11-29 13:27:17 UTC
Changing priority back to 'medium' since the number of duplicates is lower than 5
Comment 11 Emir Sarı 2019-11-29 17:33:37 UTC
This is a rather "sought-after" feature especially for the folks switching from Excel, it is instantly noticeable. In my opinion it would be better to keep this as high importance.

Reproduced on daily master build and 3.3. Updating version to Inherited from OOo.

Just to clarify steps for reproduction:

1. Open Calc
2. On cell B1, type in the formula =A1
3. Note changes on the page

Expected: As soon as =A1 is typed, cell A1 should be highlighted

Actual: When =A1 is typed, no cell is highlighted
