Original DOCX With Smart-Art (Created in Word)

Problem description:
After importing DOCX with Smart-Art into LO (Smart-Art doesn't look so good in LO) - after saving as NEW.DOCX and opening in Word - document is blank.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Load attached DOCX in LO (or create DOCX in Word with Smart-Art)
2. Save as NEW.DOCX
3. Load NEW.DOCX in Word
4. Word shows a blank page

Current behavior:
Word opens NEW.DOCX as a blank page

Expected behavior:
Word should open NEW.DOCX with the same Smart-Art as in the original DOCX.
Operating System: Windows 8
Version: 4.0.2.2 release

DOCX after saved by LibreOffice (blank document)
Comment 2 Jorendc 2013-05-13 09:40:35 UTC
I can reproduce this behavior using Linux Mint 14 x64 with LibreOffice 4.0.3.3 and Version: 4.1.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: 5441e509f87c96ca36913bd443152adbb8ad2c9

After reopening using Word 2010 the Smart-Art is gone.

Terminal output while exporting:
warn:legacy.tools:4036:1:filter/source/msfilter/eschesdo.cxx:832: ImplEscherExSdr::~ImplEscherExSdr: unwritten SolverContainer
warn:legacy.tools:4036:1:svx/source/unodraw/unopage.cxx:86: SvxDrawPage must be disposed!

I can't imagine this isn't reported before, but I'm going to mark it as NEW right now. If I find some time I'll try to bundle/link all related/duplicates to each other.

Priority for now:
* Critical: loss of data/information
* Medium: not MANY users (only those who use smart-art) (but maybe only this smart-art?)

Kind regards,
Joren

Seems like this commit should fix it? http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=114eef57b5f5dd2936d528588bfd80a970845bb5

Will try to test it later today.

Kind regards,
Joren

No, it didn't.

From the commit message:

"With this change, the files saved to docx that contain SmartArt will
be properly opened by MS Word without data loss.
LibreOffice won't be able to properly open saved files though, as
it requires the theme file to be present, and it's not being
exported yet. This is planned to be fixed in an upcoming patch."

We are still implementing the missing part for the theme file.

This bug should be fixed now.

jorendc@libreoffice.org, could you test and mark as fixed if so?

Hello,

I have tested it bug with Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: bfaea05b711ff3e204429ce9bd26c5fe63b0b687
TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:master, Time: 2013-10-24_00:06:20

and it looks like Writer export the smart-art but wen I open the file with MS word 2007 it says that it couldn't load the file because there is something wrong with the content. (the words are translated ). Then it says that it had unreadable data and if I wanted to repair that. Then it says that is couldn't load the file and that you should ook at MS website for a "conversion program". If you click no it will open a document with some smart art (see screenshot) but not correct.

I hope this will help you out a bit.

... also, when testing, please check that you have the following option marked:

"Options -> Load/Save -> MS Office -> SmartArt to LibreOffice shapes or reverse"

It seems so ...

Is the original file opened without problems in Word 2007 ?

Thanks a lot for your effort, BTW :)

Little summery:
the Original file opens with out a problem in word 2007 (windows 7) and 2010 (windows 8).
The file opens a bit squeezed down in LibreOffice master. (windows 7)
the exported file from LibreOffice opens correct in Word 2010 (windows 8) but it doesn't open correct in word 2007 (windows 7)

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

*Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (4.4.1 or later)
   https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

*If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior

*If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System

Please DO NOT

   *Update the version field
*Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
*Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:

1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3)

http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo";
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

Thank you for your help!
