Problem description: Say if have recently viewed follwing files A.doc ; B.xls ; C.ppt ; D.odt ; E.ods ; F.odp Now if I open Writer & go to 'File --> Recent Documents' I see all 6 files --> A.doc ; B.xls ; C.ppt ; D.odt ; E.ods ; F.odp Whereas, except files A.doc & D.odt ; rest files are irrelavent to 'Writer'. Same case is there with all other applications under Libreoffice. LO doesnot consider 'Applicability' of the type of file with the application. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create & open any 6 files --> A.doc ; B.xls ; C.ppt ; D.odt ; E.ods ; F.odp 2. Open Writer or Calc or Draw or Impress 3. go to File --> Recent Documents Current behavior: Irrespective of the application you have opened, "Recent Document" will show ALL the list of last seen documents. Expected behavior: In my above example, Writer should show only A.doc & D.odt Calc should show only B.xls & E.ods Impress should show only C.ppt & F.odp Draw & Base should not show any 'Recent' file Operating System: All Version: 4.1.0.3 rc
Hi pharmankur, Thanks for your report. It is an essential part of LibreOffice that the modules work integrated. I.e.: one does not have to start Calc in order to start or open a spreadsheet: you can do that while working in any file. In the same line, users will expect that they may open recent Writer documents, while working in Calc. Etc. So I think this intentional behaviour really will not be changed. Regards, Cor
Ok, In that case there should be an option of 'PINNING' important documents. Because as all files of all LO applications are recorded in history, history list gets populated rapidly & document keeps moving downwards in list & disappear frequently. * This might be a new request !
