Problem description: When scaling a document above 120% some border lines/formatting start to vanish when printing. Print preview looks OK. Steps to reproduce: 1. .... Set any border of cells 2. .... Go to Print Preview 3. .... Set Scaling Factor above 120% 4. .... Print document Current behavior: Some border lines vanish due to Border - Line - Width is set too thin (0,05pt) as default. Expected behavior: Print all border lines / formatting 3.5 version does not have this problem due to Border - Line - Width is set to 0,30pt by default. Workaround: Manually set Border - Line - Width to 0,30pt Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.1.0.4 release Last worked in: 3.5 all versions
Already reproducible with 3.5.5.3 Not reproducible with 3.5.4.2 -> regression.
Created attachment 83868 [details] Test file and results of printing to MS XPS Writer virtual printer and PDF export This is a spreadsheet to test the problem. It has been printed to MS XPS Writer to show the problem.
Note that the problem is not related to defaults of line widths: in 3.5, default widths are 0.05pt, too. But regardless of the default, if you set thin border widths (0.05pt) in any version prior to 3.5.5, they are printed OK.
Cell border handling has been reworked in 4.2, and this appears to work fine with 4.2.5.
Don't see any improvement with Version: 4.2.5.0.0+ Build ID: 41b9ab0375f455f504c66b4870e817aba0f990d2 TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:libreoffice-4-2, Time: 2014-05-18_18:05:37 Printing the ods from attachment 83868 [details] gives horizontal lines 1, 5, 6, 7, 8 to be zero-width, invisible in XPS, almost invisible on hi-res printer, hair-size in PDF (noticeable on zooming). Reopening.
Then you and I are seeing different things. Either way I cannot reproduce it any more.
Back to UNCONFIRMED.
I saw same result as Mike with "Export as PDF". But printing with CUPS-PDF Printer produces good result. Perhaps its a bug in "Export as PDF" Tested on LO 4.2.5.2 and 4.3.0.1 - Ubuntu 12.04 x86
Werner, do you still have printing problem with latest stable release (4.2.6.2 or 4.3.0.4) ? If it resolved please mark this RESOLVED WORKSFORME, otherwise UNCONFIRMED *) "Export as PDF" should be different problem
