Created attachment 84899 [details] A test document, to reproduce the bug/problem. Problem description: In a table, I want to merge two cells. I select the cells, and click the "merge"-button. Then one of the selected cells are merged with the cell in the row above, that is not selected. And the rows are switched. If I made a new document, I have not been able to reproduce the problem. So please try in the attached document. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open my attached document "table bug.odt" 2. On page one, select the two cells with yellow background, named "This one!" and "and this one!". 3. Press the merge button. 4. Note the row numbers to the left. They was 401, 402, 403, 404, 405, 406 and now they are 401, 402, 404, 403, 405 Another strange behavior: 1. Open the document. 2. Select the two cells, and the cell above. You now have three cells selected. 3. Press the merge button. 4. The cell on row 402 is not merged! Current behavior: The rows are messed up. WHen mergeing two cells, the cells under will also be merged with the cell to the right. Expected behavior: The selected cells should merge, and the rows should be in the same order as before. :) Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.0.4.2 release

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: *Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (4.4.1 or later) https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ *If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior *If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT *Update the version field *Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) *Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa Thank you for your help! -- The LibreOffice QA Team This NEW Message was generated on: 2015-04-01
I could not reproduce it in 3.4.3. 3.5.0 crashed when merging, but I managed to see, that it didn't mess up the numbers. 3.6.3.2 showed the problem. Adding bibisect request anyway, because maybe there is something wrong in my end. I'm using the new releases repo: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/HowToBibisect#releases

I'm using the new releases repo: > https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/HowToBibisect#releases These were on Linux.. I remembered I had 3.5.0rc3 on Windows as well and it didn't crash and did not show the problem! The problem persists in the latest version: Win 7 Pro 64-bit Version: 5.0.0.0.alpha1+ (x64) Build ID: f3375fa07f27bd2ade519af3c07d69040d10eaa9 TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2015-04-22_23:38:50 Locale: fi_FI
Created attachment 117728 [details] simplified test document to reproduce the bug I attach a simplified sample document where the bug occurs but the crash should not happen.
While bibisecting the bug using the "bibisect-43all" repository and the simplified sample file, I found out that the behaviour does not change at once from being correct to the behaviour described in the bug report. It works correctly with old versions of LibreOffice (e.g. commit tagged "oldest" in bibisect-43all repository). There are 3 changes in the behaviour. The different "steps" are the following: A) The content of the two cells is merged correctly, but the merged cell is moved to the top of the table (s. screenshot "A_screenshot_merged_cell_at_top.png") B) Instead of merging the two cells, the content of both cells is removed. No cells are merged. C) The behaviour as described in this bug report can be observed. I bibisected all of those changes in the behaviour. ============================= Bibisect result for transition "OK -> A" (i.e. cell content merged, but at wrong position): 6d50aa5efc5cd2c6ebbb903f794de6d7033dab06 is the first bad commit commit 6d50aa5efc5cd2c6ebbb903f794de6d7033dab06 Author: Bjoern Michaelsen <bjoern.michaelsen@canonical.com> Date: Thu Dec 8 17:31:39 2011 +0100 source-hash-f82da782158d8f5b89a6a9057df1a4695425ed75 commit f82da782158d8f5b89a6a9057df1a4695425ed75 Author: awf <af@openoffice.org> AuthorDate: Tue Nov 1 16:18:25 2011 +0000 Commit: Thorsten Behrens <tbehrens@suse.com> CommitDate: Wed Nov 23 23:53:50 2011 +0100 i118560 - slide sorter: pass PageSelector object by reference * found as LGPLv3-only fix at svn rev 1196092 (http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1196092) :100644 100644 9dbb685a6c533c88b46a30cde0a1b1a94609db9f 84bd40e7115c984ed43af55b7ceb2bf4908871ee M autogen.log :100644 100644 ff513f43b053cd08436e95828392c55a3bd6c644 99e02690ea7cf8c2db142cf5b6216cdbd47c557e M ccache.log :100644 100644 d22037618bba9cd63b9c52f393a87ff22cac1f67 b52c1b3c7e023af0553af0f0b57e4e665b73ed93 M commitmsg :100644 100644 a0fc2f98774473b8813004b0b8778946523434b8 26355b533ace03b1859603af068de3962256530d M dev-install.log :100644 100644 e015e09e4af4ff63d73d61d47646f26cb44670a5 af4f4544d46fbb7a224096e9b9bad031ed080a2f M make.log :040000 040000 9abf646ea68e7bd435383d24d9cb7222e938788e 811fdb22c8768b44c1b09a40f82ab644bad0445c M opt --- $ git bisect log #
