Created attachment 85446 [details] Border of the input frame The input frame has a wide border. This is untypical for Libreoffice and doesn't look very pretty. This border should be set to a standard size, like the other frames.
That is CMD_BOX_PADDING: http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/starmath/source/view.cxx#CMD_BOX_PADDING Tomaž changed it to 10: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/diff/starmath/source/view.cxx?id=2d3baccf0249f8c68dcf8f9b0000453d0bc82d8f Adding him to the CC list.
Yes, I increased the border padding because otherwise it is very hard to tear off the input frame. The padding can be reverted back to 4 but we need to add something to make tearing off (or changing position) easier.
Ah ok, I thought this always looked this way. Because it's a bit old fashioned ;)
I would suggest, that we leave it till now to 10 on the top and move back to 4 for the other sides. Because especially where the scrollbars are this is very odd.
Here's a proposed patch: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/5909/
Thomas Arnhold committed a patch related to this issue. It has been pushed to "master": http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=59a4b78bbe4a1aa1ef225adbc5cf3570a4de9b5e fdo#69111: Set edit window border to 4 again. The patch should be included in the daily builds available at http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours. More information about daily builds can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Testing_Daily_Builds Affected users are encouraged to test the fix and report feedback.
Hopefully all agree with this, otherwise please adjust the values :)
