steps to reproduce: 1. open new calc document 2. enter a in cell A1 3. enter b in cell B1 4. add comment to cell B1 ("test") 5. select cell A1 6. copy (Ctrl C) 7. select cell B4 8. paste (Ctrl V) 9. select cell B1 10. edit comment (right mouse button, add comment) 11. click in comment at the end of the text to enter edit mode 12. add one character and press Enter Actual behaviour: the comment has gone, the cursor has the cross-hair shape. Expected behaviour: add a new line to the comment and remain in edit mode of comment. O/S Windows 7-64 Also reproduceable with Master on openSUSE 12.3
Confirmed using Ubuntu and Version: 4.1.2.1 Build ID: bf15ac65c2167fb1ef3daf3710609d4a4c369a9 - More, the content of the cell in B1 is replaced by the copied content, meaning that you lose the original content of B1. Sophie

Sophie IMHO , this happen because you still in copy/paste(C/P) mode ... between steps 8 and 9 when you finish pasting, hit ESC button to deactivate C/P mode and try to edit the comment, it will be OK and the comment will be saved , because you finish C/P mode. otherwise, C/P mode still active and you can see the borders of copied cell still "flushing". I am not sure if this is a bug or not :) HTH
