Description David 2013-10-03 18:58:05 UTC
Askbot 0.7.49 has introduced a UI whereby long(ish) answers have only the first few lines displayed, then a "(more)" link added to see the rest of the answer.

A strong consensus (rapidly) emerged on Ask.LibreOffice.org is that this is BAD UI:

http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/23480/asklibreofficeorg-is-new-more-feature-really-needed/

There is, apparently, a way to "fix" this:

http://askbot.org/en/question/11688/how-to-override-the-curtailed-answer-more-link-in-0749/?answer=11689#post-id-11689

Who has responsibility for this? And can it be "fixed" a.s.a.p.?

Thanks!

Hi David,

asap ;)

well, things get fixed when they get fixed. If you want to speed up that process, contribute a batch. That's the beauty of OpenSource software.

But since I agree with the fact that the "more" link is rather distracting instead of providing a cleaner view (which might have been it's original intention) I set this bug to NEW.

cc: Rob, what do you think?

Hi Foss - :) well, "asap" as in "asaP". I was only trying to represent strength of feeling on Ask LibO. I'm not sure this is one of those issues that a numpty user can do much about except to report it.

But thanks for this responsiveness - much appreciated!

Evgeny is the one who is in charge, and he seems to have replied on the linked URL arleady :-)
