when I write something in calc sheet e.g. 45 ml and i want the "m" to be written as "micro" which is done by selecting the font of "m" as symbol. Now when I select the "m" and change the font to symbols, and go to the next cell, the "l" right after "m" is also converted to symbol font (in this case, it appears as lambda sign) which is not desired. However, when I click in the cell again, the "l" is converted automatically back to the normal font, but its very annoying as most of times, it gives the impression that I have formatted both letters in symbol font which is not the case.
Confirmed with LO 4.1.1.2
update, just installed the latest version, i.e. 4.1.2.3 and its same. I have some linux distros as vmware that have version 3.xx, and this bug is not there.
Bug still present with LO 4.3.6.2. I try to help with more details: Steps to reproduce ================== 1. Enter a few letters (a few letters) in a cell 2. Edit this cell and select only a part of the text (example: one character) 3. Change the font (choose something really different, example: Symbol) and confirm that only the selected text is changed (good formatting). 4. Leave the edit mode (press enter or click anywhere else) and see that all the text has the new font (bad formatting). Workarounds =========== Option 1: Now edit again the same cell (double-click) but don't change anything. Now the formatting is ok and is preserved when you leave the edit mode! Option 2: Save the file and see the the formatting returns ok!
Bug still present in LO 4.4.3.2
This issue seems to be fixed now (at least on LO 5.0.3.2 Linux Mint 17.3).
Since there is no specific commit fixing this issue, setting to WORKSFORME. FIXED is used only when a commit exists.
