Description Andras Timar 2013-10-07 13:02:12 UTC
It is the same as the long ago closed bug 33266, I saw it on Windows.
LibreOffice cannot load dbulo.dll and crashes, when Tools - Bibliography Database is selected from the menu, and Base is not installed.

With installer 4.2.0 beta1 and beta2 it's not possible not to install the Base module !
Moreover it is not possible to disable the installation of any module, it is not provided in the installer..

It is possible, but not from the UI. So on Windows only power users would encounter this problem, and they can workaround it. I wonder, what the situation is on Linux.

I think we can close this bug report for the same reason than bug 67130 and due to this commit: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/gitweb?p=core.git;a=commit;h=32bbc8d9d84e56ef0dbc34b2a6f3057e3274a357

I have the same problem in libreoffice 4.3.0.4. I didn't knew that having the base component was important for the bibliography database and when I pressed it libreoffice crashed without any warning. A good fix would be to inform the user that can't work dew to the missing base component (of course if it can work without would be even better).

So the bug is either not fixed or it is broken again. Should I reopen this bug report or fill another bug?
