Description icerabbit 2013-10-29 15:47:11 UTC
LibreOffice 4.1.0.4 Writer - Mac OS X 10.8.5

I have added the "Repeat" (Shift Command Y) button to my toolbar, and come to notice it does not always allow to repeat an action.

Consider a full page table with multiple empty rows as spacers.
I have previously reduced the font size to 6 in the empty rows, to create room for more rows in the document.

I noticed however that despite the font being smaller, that it didn't shrink the row height.

So, I used Menu > Table > Autofit > Optimal Row Height
which shrinks down that row.

When I highlight another row to do the same, I cannot use "Repeat". It is greyed out in the button bar? And doesn't respond to the key press.

Expected behavior is that it would repeat the last action.

I am not sure if it possible to reproduce the last action when this action must be preceded by a select action.

Possible workarounds:
1/ select all the rows to be shrunk before processing;
2/ record a macro (?)

Best regards. JBF

icerabbit: Can you please provide a test document so this can be tested against and subsequently be confirmed. If your document contains sensitive data, please clear that or replace it with random information.

A step-by-step description of how to reproduce the issue is most helpful and will help to speed up the processing of this problem a lot.

Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided.

After providing the requested info, please reset this bug to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks :)

Also might want to retry with LO 4.2.0.1 http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

Let me set this to New and change to: repeat not working for Table > Autofit > Optimal Row Height.
Doesn't work in 3.3.0 either, so inherited from OOo.

Effectively, some actions can be repeated, and others not.
For example, when I add a line to my table, after, if I use the command to repeat the action, nothing happens.
But, if I write "a" in a cell of my table, and then, repeat that in another cell, it runs.
It seems that the structure parameters of the table cannot be repeated.

Dear icerabbit,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword
