On my netbook with screen size 1024 x 600 the file open and close dialog exceed screen height and therefore buttons are not visible. Resizing box by dragging on the border is difficult using the trackpad because it is not exact enough. LibreOffice should get the correct size of the working area.
Hi, I do not have a netbook with your scree resolution so can't confirm. But it happens with some dialog on mine with Gnome3 and debian. For information, are you using LibreOffice dialogs (Tools > Options > General), if no, that could be a way to workaround your issue - Sophie
Unfortunately, there hasn't been any update for a long time. Is this issue still present and prevailing? Otherwise, can we close this issue?
As of Version 4.2.6.2 it is still true. Seems like the application does not request the screen size from the xwindow system.
Just did an update to 4.3.1.2 and the problem still persists but I am not sure whether it is a libreoffice problem or a general [x]ubuntu problem because some other appliations like gimp show the same problem while others like evince correctly size the dialog. I just could imagine that those application that show the wrong size just rely on OS defaults while the others first get the dimensions and then explicitly size the dialog. Maybe this is the same effect than with the document properties dialog which gets oversized if field entry in comment is longer than the line when dialog opens up first.
Would you like to file an Xubuntu bug: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs I guess you should include Xubuntu in the title for it to catch the eye of the Xubuntu bug team.
