For various reasons, QA is supportive of implementing OpenID support in Bugzilla. This would (hopefully) lower the barrier to users filing new bug reports, and would allow us to do interesting things in the future, such as creating tools to move a Bugzilla bug -> Ask LibreOffice question (or vice versa). We should wait on this improvement until we migrate Bugzilla to a separate instance.
Why not, if standard login/password authentication is still allowed. Indeed I am sure that many users do not want to make easier to be spied by using OpenID. Best regards. JBF
I received a while ago a note from OpenID that they will shut down operation in 2014? Do we have an alternative for LibO sites to login WITHOUT facebook, twitter, etc.? I would very much appreciate the chance to login without any social network. I like to contribute to LibO in the AskLibO forum (currently due to much work very low level), bug reports etc. I also have LibO logos on presentations as well as on my homepage. However I don't want FB etc to get this information into there data sets.
I don't want to open a new bug if this is already being looked at, but when I use the feature "forgot password" in bugzilla, I do not receive an email, nor is there one in spam. I can repeat the process several times, and still not receive anything.
OpenID is deprecated. Google will shut it down soon - https://developers.google.com/+/api/auth-migration#timetable. OpenID Connect 1.0 (OAuth 2.0 family) is new standard - http://openid.net/connect/, http://openid.net/connect/faq/.

To clarify, what I believe you're saying is that we should make sure that Bugzilla can support the latest-and-greatest iteration of OpenID, right?
