Created attachment 89319 [details] Example Bibliography where database fields do not get populated In Writer, there are many bugs with the Bibliography feature: Upon Insert --> Indexes and Table --> Indexes and Tables --> Bibliography one needs to make sure that both: 1) The Structure under the Entries tab never changes anymore for all Types (e.g. Books, Journals, Research Reports) that are used. 2) All fields populated in the Bibliography database never change anymore. Otherwise, if the Databases fields change later or if the Bibliography Structure is ever changed later, any changes may not take effect in the Bibliography in the document. Whether changes take effect in the Bibliography ih document seems to be completely random. Examples: a) If a space gets added in the Structure after the Author, then this may not appear in the Bibliography in the document. b) If a field gets added to the Structure (e.g Volume), this may not get added to the Bibliography in the document. An empty space at the location may appear in the Bibliography the document where a database field is supposed to get populated (see attached screenshot). c) If a Bibliography database field gets added or changed (e.g. a change of Author name from A. Einstein to Einstein, A.), this field may not appear or get updated in the Bibliography in the document after performing an Update Index/Table on the Bibliography in the document. d) If a Bibliography entry gets added to the document and an Update Index/Table on the Bibliography in the document is performed, duplicate numbering of entries may occur in the Bibliography. This issue may get resolved by performing another Update Index/Table on the Bibliography (but the issue may also persist). e) If fields get changed in the top part of the database then may not get updated in the bottom form. Some of those issues can only be resolved by removing all Bibliography Entries form the document, Deleting the Bibliography, recreating the Bibliography in the document and adding the entries in the document again. Obviously this is extremely cumbersome.
I have now been able to produce many of the mentioned issues already upon first creation of the Bibliography in the document as well, see below. Hence, the Bibliography errors are completely randomly created: Bibliography 1: Davis, R.H., , 1974 2: Kirilyuk, A.P., , 1897 3. Kirilyuk, A.P., Double solution with chaos: Completion of de Broglie’s nonlinear wave mechanics and its intrinsic unification with the causally extended relativity http://arxiv.org/abs/quant-ph/9902016. 4: Landau, L.D., and E.M. Lifshitz., , 1976 5. Planck, M., Über irreversible Strahlungsvorgänge, , . Inserted Bibliography Entries 3 1 5 2 4
Marking as duplicate of bug 60232 (bibliography update). Please report one issue per bug report, as this helps to manage and fix them. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 60232 ***
