Description porquet 2013-11-25 14:23:09 UTC
Hello,

Despite all my efforts, with the system installed on my machine (Ubuntu 13.04), it is definitively impossible to remove a password in Writer LibreOffice with the normal procedure.
This is quite a drawback.

"Help" LibreOffice says :

"Undoing password protection : To remove a password, open the document, then save without password."
It doesn't work at all. I am not alone in this case.

Have you a operative solution ?

Thank you in advance for your answer.
Best regards.

Hi Philippe, using version 4.1.3 under the same OS, I can't reproduce the problem you meet. Could you upload a document where the password can't be removed and give the password so we can open it? Do you meet this issue with all your documents having passwords? Sophie

Hi,

My test file is "Password writer file test" (attached) and the password
is : Yz19Dc,! (without blank between , et !)

I meet this issue on all documents having passwords since I put
passwords on documents ".odt" on my machine (a long time ago).
I did'nt meet this issue on a windows system.
I never succeed to remove password under my OS. I'm compelled to copy
paste the entire text of the encrypt file on a second new document.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Philippe, it works with LO 4.2.5.2 - Ubuntu 12.04. And this also a duplicate to Bug 61438, as Maxim's marked before.

Please comment in that bug if you can replicate this issue with latest stable release.
