Created attachment 90058 [details] Compressed file with images and summary of what they show At work, I received a xlsx spreadsheet which Libreoffice 4.1.3 final is able to correctly open but improperly display all of its charts. This is the reason why I cannot post the original document in here (work related). It is my belief that enough information is included in the attached tar.gz file, so that one can correctly start to infer the cause for not displaying the chart. Please let me know what else is missing or how I can be of assistance. The original document was created with Microsoft Excel version 2010, which not only I do not have but also I have ever used. For your information, I have also tried opening the xlsx with the new LO 4.2 beta1. It seems to open the document in a inferior way when compared to LO 4.1.3.
Hi J, if your document contains sensitive data, please clear that or replace it with random information. Would that be possible? A test file is the best way to get this bug fixed. Without a test file this is very complicated to find the root of the problem and subsequently provide a fix. Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided. After providing the requested info, please reset this bug to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks :)
I fully agree with you that having a test case is the best situation. My question to you, how to I create such file with LO alone. I did edited the xml to sanitize the title, axis and legend. Let me know how I can help you. Once the file is opened and the range is manually "corrected", if the document is saved in odt, then LO opens the chart correctly. Now that I'm writing this, I have to say that I have never opened, immediately save in xlsx and open again with LO just to see what happens.
Created attachment 90322 [details] Compressed archive with test file showing the empty chart See file "demo_bug72202.tar.gz" for test case showing the empty chart bug. Steps to reproduce 1) Open the ods spreadsheet document created using LO 4.1.3. 2) Save in MS Excel 2007/2010 (xlsx) format. Exit LO 4.1.3. 3) Open the file saved in 2) above. Chart is empty. Note the both X and Y data are defined via equations. If at least one of the four is plain text, when repeating steps 2) and 3) above, the chart opens fine.
I can confirm this, tested using Windows 8.1 with LibreOffice Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 8102d45911bf3c47ce7ee15d3db89b0024c3bff8 TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2013-12-29_09:34:00 I can't confirm it is OK when you re-save it all again (so open , save , open , save open :-) )...
