I have a partially complete spreadsheet which conditional formatting. All attempts to copy existing conditional formatting to new cells (single cells, groups of cells, entire columns) fail. The last version causes a crash. LibreOffice is effectively useless for my purposes until this is fixed. (I upgraded to 4.1.4.2 because my previous (recent but don't remember which one) version was crashing randomly.
Can you please use https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ and try to create more informative bug reports. The way you currently report is not too constructive since lots of info is missing. Every good bug report has exact repro steps. If we can't reproduce it's almost certain, your bug won't get fixed any time soon. Basically: the better the report, the faster the issue will be fixed. So: Can you please provide a test document so this can be tested against and subsequently be confirmed. If your document contains sensitive data, please clear that or replace it with random information. A step-by-step description of how to reproduce the issue is most helpful and will help to speed up the processing of this problem a lot. Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided. After providing the requested info, please reset this bug to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks :)
Sorry, I thought the steps I listed were relatively clear. I'll try to write clearer. 1) Open a new spreadsheet in LibreOffice. 2) Put something in a cell. 3) Create a conditional format for the cell. 4) Copy cell. 5) Select a whole column (click on column header). 6) Paste special leaving only formatting checked. 7) Spinning beachball is result. Cmd-opt-esc shows LibreOffice as "not responding". The original form of the error is much harder to produce. Create a spreadsheet with some conditional formatting. Copy/paste, fill-right, and fill-down to extend the spreadsheet. Copy entire sheet to new sheet in workbook. Then try to copy the formatting to cells with contents. The conditional part of the formatting will not copy. This version, I subsequently found, can be cured by cleaning up the conditional formatting (the Copy/paste, fill-right, and fill-down produced a list of !30 conditional formatting commands most over several sets of cells) so there was one format applied to the whole sheet. With only one conditional format, I can extend formatting to new cells by editing the range. (I haven't tried pasting.)
