Created attachment 91456 [details] Failing document Problem description: Cannot open XLS document. LibreOffice 4.1 just crashes. LO 4.2 gives error : Bad allocation. The XLS document is exported using the Microsoft Reporting Services built-in XLS export. Not all documents exported from ReportingServices fail, but some do. Steps to reproduce: 1. Try to open the document Current behavior: Expected behavior: Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.2.0.1 rc
We concluded that the reason it fails to open is because it contains an image. When we removed the image from the report, it opens without problems. Also, if the original xls file (with image) is opened in excel, not changed at all, and just saved again as xls file, it opens in LO without problems.
NoRepro:4.2.0.1:OSX I open attached test file and it opens fine without any issues. The image at the top left does not load but since that is not the issue at hand and this bug is about LO crashing when opening the test file might be win only.
I can reproduce this bug on windows 4.2.0.1 The file opens with out a problem in excel and it opens with out a problem on mac and 4.2.0.1

No crash with v4.4.4.1 under window 7 x64. Indeed the image in the topleft doesn't load, but thats's not the issue here.
Since no crash with LO 4.3.7., I close as WFM. Image should be searched for in the existing bugs, and reported only if not found.
