Problem description: When I start Libre Office, it comes up with document recovery dialogue. There is no way to tell Libre Office that I do not need to recover this document, that I need to delete it from the recovery list, so that this dialogue will not pop up next time I start Libre Office. At the same time, I do not want to disable this feature, I still need to recover documents after a crash or power outage. Current behavior: After a crash, LibreOffice always starts with document recovery screen, even if this document has already been recovered 100 times. There is not way to delete this document form recovery list. Expected behavior: 1. If documents were once recovered, do no show the dialogue. 2. These should be a way to delete documents from recovery list. Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.2.0.2 rc
Boris, I know this was a problem with old LO versions and I ran into that occasionally. But I have not yet seen that behavior with LO 4.2.0.2. What happens if you don't press "yes" in the recover dialogue?
Hello, you can do "start recovery" or "cancel". It you press start recovery, result is "recovery successful", but next time the same file is there again If you press "cancel", then "no", it returns you to recovery screen. Cancel - yes quits recovery, but next time you start LO, it is there again, This behavior is persistent between upgrades: I have installed the RC2 and thought I will fix the problem. But not, it is still there. It is fair to say that it stared after LO crashed on me. Crashes are very rare, LO is very stable. But this recovery is exactly for situations like this after all... Boris: please do not reply via mail but visit this bug in your browser, thanks. Does http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/ 4.2.0.3 improve the situation? Please also try resetting your user profile and let us know if that helps: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile
Boris, in the directory of the file to be recovered you should have an hidden file with a name like .~lock.filename# where filename is the name of the file to be recovered. Try this: 1/ close LO 2/ delete this lock file 3/ reopen LO Does that fix your problem? Best regards. JBF
Hello Jean Baptist, thanks for comment. I have solved this extremely sticky problem by deleting my whole LL profile and reinstallyng LL under Administrator account. I checked the folder for the hidden file before and I am sure I have tried to delete the lock file, but this did not remove the problem. I also tried to save the file under a different name and delete to original and its lock. This did not help! Boris
Can you attach the file causing the crash, so this can be tried to be reproduced under windows? Also what about 4.3.0.2? No change?
Sorry, the file is gone... Ok, nothing to do anymore. It is not possible to know if it was a bug or not. So closing as WorksForMe. Best regards. JBF
