Description Mike Lister 2014-01-30 18:58:34 UTC
Problem description:
Presenter Console doesn't appear automatically when selected in Windows 8.1 - screen mode has to be manually switched to extend desktop from clone mode after using a external monitor with laptop. In MS Office 2013 the screen mode is automatically switched to display the presenter console regardless of any previous display settings.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Set Presenter Console to appear (default).
2. Use laptop with external display only and laptop lid closed.
3. Open laptop lid and run Impress slideshow.
4. No presenter console appears just duplicate of screen slide image.
Expected behavior:
As MS PowerPoint 2013 - screen mode is switched from Clone Mode automatically to Extended Desktop Mode so Presenter Console appears. On exiting Slideshow screen mode is automatically switched back to Clone Mode.
See bug 62481 and response - many people will see this as a bug rather than something not implemented and can be achieved manually. Make it easy for the user....?
Operating System: Windows 8
Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master

Confirmed with a laptop + external monitor: presenter console appears on laptop only, when Extend desktop mode is already selected.

Setting to enhancement.

Win 8.1 32-bit, LibreOffice 4.4 RC1.

To test, it's enough to set display in Clone mode and run presentation with Presenter Console. Both displays will have Presenter Console. Repro LO 7.1+.
I update the title. This is Low priority because it's easy to switch manually.
(at least compared to some other Medium bugs - LO QA is harsk on setting High and Highest Enhancement is impossible, which I don't agree with).
