I've noticed that the latest Libre Office introduces an autocomplete in its search toolbar. I want to shut this feature off. It's behavior is erratic and counterintuitive. If one uses the mouse to click on the text field to edit whatever word one has typed in, the mouse click will not be able to de-select the word in order to edit it. If one then types, the entire word will be deleted. Worse yet, even if the word in the search bar is selected, mouse clicking to search results in autocomplete substituting whatever word was highlighted in the list (regardless of what is in the text pane). In short, the implementation of this feature is a complete and utter mess. How do I shut it off?
Hi, I can not confirm. When I click a selected word, it's unselected and I can type in to modify it. Leaving as unconfirmed - Sophie
What "selected word" were you selecting? In the document or in the search toolbar? You need to be more specific. Besides that, how do I turn off the autocomplete feature in the search bar? It's not helpful.
Hi Patrick, I tested 4.1.6 and 4.2.5 and dont see any auto complete in the search bar that appears when pressing Ctrl+F. Can you possibly send in a screenshot of how it shows for you.
