There is something wrong with the formula. If I open the document in Word 2010, in Kingsoft Writer, or TextMaker, then I see no preview image. I need to double-click it to get it repaired to show a correct graphic. When I save the repaired document with Word 2010, then it opens in LO4.3 correctly too. How was the document created?
I have no idea how it was created. Just had this document and posted a bug.
The file is made in 27-1-2003 with Micorsoft Office Word says the windows. And yes for me the formula is also loaded as a picture in LibreOffice 4.1.3.1 and I also "I need to double-click it to get it repaired to show a correct graphic."
Dear Sergey, Thank you for submitting the bug. I can confirm that the bug is available in 3.3.0, 4.2.5 and master. Instead of rendering it as an ole, LO is rendering it as a picture. Kingsoft Writer does the same thing of rendering it as a blank picture. A resaved doc file in word 2007 had it reopen correctly in LO as an ole and Kingsoft Writer as a picture. The formula is a Microsoft Equation 3.0 object and its likely LO and Kingsoft are relying on a saved image version of the formula when none is actually there, as ms word first opens with it blank as well.

In my view this isnt a bug, as mentioned in comment 2 and comment 5. Similar to MS Word, double-clicking on the OLE preview opens the formula editor and exiting the formula editor refreshes the preview which is then presented. @Miklos: What is your take on this?

Formula image in 5.4, object in 6.0 and proper display in 6.1 and 6.2+. I'll close. It'd be good to know when this was fixed.
(In reply to Timur from comment #12) > Formula image in 5.4, object in 6.0 and proper display in 6.1 and 6.2+. > I'll close. > It'd be good to know when this was fixed. Not sure what you meant by the difference between 6.0 and 6.1+, I could reverse bibisect the point when it started bringing up the formula editor upon double click in 6.0. Additionally the resaved document you uploaded seems to have been corruped during upload (it can be fixed by deleting some HTML form reference from the beginning of the file). https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=5868745db74ae930edb0058490076d82aaeafbe9 author Armin Le Grand <Armin.Le.Grand@cib.de> 2017-06-12 15:27:16 +0200 committer Thorsten Behrens <Thorsten.Behrens@CIB.de> 2017-07-15 11:01:29 +0200 emfplus: make VectorFormats Emf/Wmf/Svg work
