Here is the docx with the described behaviour

I have a docx file generated with docx4java and containing a simple table.
The table is correctly formatted if I open the docx with MSOffice, while in LO the table width goes a widely over the right margin of the page.
Selecting the table properties it has a 31,85 cm width size.
But if in LO I save the docx with the MSOffice 2000/2007 XML format (docx) and I reopen it in LO, the table is correctly resized and shown within the page margins.
The table properties shows a correct 17 cm width size.
Here is attached the docx I used.

Hi can confirm what you described. Most of the time, as a workaround, if you do a right click on the table and select Table in the contextual menu, then the Table tab and set Alignment to Automatic, the table will be correctly formatted.
Could you tell the LO version you use and your OS, thanks (please, answer using this link https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76068)
Reproduced with Version: 4.2.3.1
Build ID: 3d4fc3d9dbf8f4c0aeb61498a81f91c5b7922f13 Ubuntu 13.10. I'll try to confirm also with an earlier version later.
Set to New - Sophie

I added the LO ans OS versions in the related field of bugzilla, celecting the most recent used LO version.
By the way I checked the bug both on LO 4.1.3.2 on Kubuntu 13.10 on a 32 bit machine and on LO 4.2.1.1 on Windows7 on a 64 bit machine
