sets displayed too small

Using sets the symbols are much too small - almost as small as small letters.
This problem occured with the change Windows 7 -> Windows 8.
At same time problem with roots and cdot appeared (Bug-ID 60268)
By the way: same problems with OpenOffice since Windows 8

you are reporting a bug against LibO 4.1.1.2 which is an obsolete and deprecated version.

you are strongly encouraged to upgrade to current LibO 4.3.4.1 release, retest the bug and give feedback about it's status.

according to what you wrote, the same issue affects OpenOffice, hence the bug is inherited from OOo

Confirmed that they are bigger on Windows 7 than on 8.

Tested on Win 8.1 32-bit LibreOffice 4.4 RC1 and on Win 7 64-bit Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 57626f2132f73e4e42b31e364b25c5867336e718

The set notation mathematical symbols for both default Liberation Serif and OpenSymbol font family render smaller on Windows 8 as compared to Windows 7 installs.

Affected glyphs:

setc
setn
setq
setr
setz

Removing preBibisect, regression if it's inherited from OOo
Comment 7 V Stuart Foote 2017-03-10 16:17:21 UTC
As with bug 60268 this was corrected at 5.3.0 with the Harfbuzz based common layout and correction of font fallback.

Closing this as issue is resolved fixed by commits for bug 89870 for both OpenGL and default rendering with the HarfBuzz based common layout. With the new layout and improved font handling, system font Segoe UI is no longer used in formulas on Windows 8, 8.1, 10

Also, at 5.3.2 Harfbuzz based common layout sm formula nodes using either OpenGL rendering and Default's GDI rendering are scaled the same.
