Bug 51733 may be somewhat related, as this also requires high resolution icons...
I believe this has been fixed in 4.2.3 and later. Can you verify?

I tried this and the bug can still be reproduced in LibreOffice 4.4.0.3 on Windows 8.1 64bit (see attached screenshot 113708).
please give an update of the current bug status with latest LibO 5.3.6 or 5.4.2

I looked at this one. Same with 6.2+. But seems meaningless to me. It's not icons in LO, it's just 2 icons in Setup Wizard. Not sure if it's NotOurBug, maybe not, but surely not worth keeping open. NotABug.
