Description PeterSHarris 2014-04-11 06:00:11 UTC
Installed release 4.2.3 today and three times during the day's work editing in Writer suddenly stopped. That is, one could no longer edit a document. Exiting LO and re-loading the document enabled editing.

This hadn't happened with 4.2.3 RCs 2 and 3.

I eventually reverted to 4.2.3 RC 3 and the fault hasn't happened.

Thank you for LibreOffice.

Hi Peter, try resetting the user profile, maybe some hidden issue updating.

Hm, not happening here with 4.2.3 OSX 10.9.2.

Sounds odd. Could you re-install 4.2.3, reset user profile and then when the problem re-appears, check console.app if it spits any related errors?

Thank you both for your responses.

Today I re-installed release 4.2.3 but didn't reset the user profile.

I edited a complex document for a couple of hours and the fault didn't re-occur.

I will continue using 4.2.3 tomorrow and let you know the outcome.

The problem seemed like the document spontaneously became read-only.

Have now used 4.2.3 for two days since re-installing.

I'm pleased to report that the problem has not re-occurred.
